Physical Therapy in Oak Lawn, IL
Oak Lawn is an Illinois town steeped in history on the southwest perimeter of Chicago. It was settled beginning in approximately 1842, when land was in part purchased by John Simpson, an early major figure in the area. Over the next several decades, Worth Township would pay for the construction of Black Oak Grove Road (95th Street), creating the first major road in the community and bequeathing the area with the name Black Oak Grove. By 1882, the post office, train stations, and nearby community simply called itself Oak Lawn. The village became official in 1908.
Today, Oak Lawn represents a great option for those wishing to live in the suburbs of Chicago. The central town has excellent shopping and dining due to a major redevelopment of the area starting in 2002. It has a wonderful community hospital, a variety of school options, and the Metra Station is a brisk 30-minute commute into downtown Chicago.
