Courtney is a highly skilled licensed physical therapist that has treated a wide variety of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions in patients of all different ages and skill sets. Throughout her years of practice, Courtney has also been able to interact with a variety of athletes and has been able to utilize her athletic background in assessing situations, making goals, encouraging progress, and commending success. Courtney’s special interests are in general orthopedic conditions, sports rehabilitation, post-surgical rehab, manual therapy, injury prevention, body mechanics training, and community outreach.
Courtney helps patients achieve their goals by treating them with a hands-on approach in conjunction with functional, individualized activities. She completed her full body Active Release Techniques Certification in 2013 and she recently was trained in administering intramuscular trigger point dry needling. Courtney is also certified in ASTYM® and Functional Movement Systems, all of which allow Courtney to provide customized manual therapy and assessments to individuals.
Courtney continues to further her education to provide the best and most knowledgeable services possible. She believes that learning is very important, as medicine is continuously changing. Courtney also believes that patient education is a key component to rehab. Some of her continuing education includes the following: running injuries and gait analysis, sport-specific return to play protocols, the overhead athlete, manual therapy for cervicogenic headaches, operative approaches for total hip and knee replacements, plus more.
Courtney has volunteered at numerous local races, ranging from 5K to marathons, and Crossfit events. She is also part of the volunteer medical staff for the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP). In addition to community outreach events, Courtney enjoys giving back to the physical therapy profession by serving as a clinical instructor for PT students.
