Physical Therapy Near You in Lakeview Chicago

About Lakeview

Impact Physical therapy is proud to now call Lakeview one of its homes! Located on the North Side of Chicago, Lakeview is an awesome place to visit and a better place to live. Don’t believe us? Money Magazine once named it of the best big-city neighborhoods to live in in the country. As the second largest community area in Chicago, it’s home to some of our favorite communities in Chicago, including Boystown, Wrigleyville, Wrigley Plaza, Southport Corridor, North Halsted, and Sheridan Station Corridor.

Nestled up to Lake Michigan, the area of Lakeview has always been a desired piece of real estate. At one point, it was home to the Miami, Ottawa and Winnebago Native Americans. European settlers first made a permanent settlement in 1853, when James Rees and Elisha Hundley were one of inaugural pairs to build Hotel Lakeview near West Byron Street and North Lake Shore Drive. Soon, the area became a popular destination for German, and Scandinavian immigrants.

So how do Lakeview’s diverse and awesome group of people have fun and stay active?

Things to do in Lakeview to Stay Active

Lakeview offers a wide variety of good times and activities for people of all ages, starting with the world-famous Wrigley Field, home to the Chicago Cubs. As a founding member of the NL in 1876, the Cubs have as long and storied a history in America’s Pastime as anyone. No longer lovable losers plagued by disappointment for a century, the Cubs recent championship has only strengthened the North Side’s love of everything blue, white, and cubs. Meanwhile, those who love the performing arts and a great night out find a haven in the Belmont Theater District. There, you can check out a variety of historic theaters, multi-stage venues, nightclubs, stores, and restaurants.

For those wanting to step away from the bustle of shops and food, make your way to Lakeview’s portion of Lincoln Park. Available here is beautiful hiking on the Lakefront Trail, great golfing, tennis courts, a boat harbor, and much, much more. It’s the perfect locale for those looking to train or just have a little outdoor fun.
