Rucha Patel

PT, DPT

“When I see a person, I envision their skeletal and muscular system in order to start the process of uncovering the cause of their dysfunction. With over 13 years of experience, I use my training to identify a patient’s musculoskeletal dysfunction and related causes and how I can help those structures optimally recover. My goal is to get to the root cause of a patient’s pain and symptoms, so I can be the last physical therapist they see. By understanding the body’s core structures, pelvic floor, and surrounding musculature I can treat patient’s dysfunction to achieve their goals. My motto is: It’s all connected!”

Professional Interests
Rucha’s physical therapy career started working with patients and doctors at Rush and Northwestern hospitals in orthopedics, women’s health, post-operative therapy, vestibular and chronic pain. Since having children, she has refocused her specialties to pre and post pregnancy, women’s pelvic floor dysfunction, sexual pain, and bowel/bladder dysfunction. She incorporates traditional physical therapy techniques as well as craniosacral and cupping therapy. With her experience in post-operative home health, she has gained experience treating the body from all angles. Women’s health has always been of special interest, dating back to her graduate training. Her ability to come full circle with her treatment spectrum from general orthopedics to focused care on treating the low back and hips to core/pelvic floor therapy has given her great pleasure in servicing a wide array of patients.

Rucha’s enthusiasm to work with patients and come up with individualized treatment plans which focus on helping patient’s reach their maximum function is her passion. In her spare time, she leads an active lifestyle – you’ll find her at the gym or doing yoga as she has been an enthusiast for almost 20 years. She enjoys the mountains, traveling the globe with her kids, reading books and has a natural hand at cooking and baking.
